This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +3 more states.
β’ Facilitate discussions on data-centric analytics architecture with customers.
β’ Evaluate customer data, applications, analytics needs, workloads, and data flows.
β’ Create contemporary architectures for analytics, data lakes, and data lakehouses.
β’ Enhance ingestion and ETL/ELT pipelines, as well as query performance, concurrency, data placement, scalability, interoperability, lifecycle, reliability, and cost effectiveness.
β’ Review traditional enterprise data warehouse environments to pinpoint candidates for modernization.
β’ Formulate migration and modernization strategies, including phased implementations.
β’ Cultivate expertise and opportunities surrounding Vertica, SingleStore, Cloudera, Splunk, and Elastic.
β’ Define the scope and scale of enterprise analytics environments based on data volumes, ingestion rates, retention policies, SLAs, and functional specifications.
β’ Create sizing methodologies, reference architectures, best practices, and repeatable deployment frameworks.
β’ Lead technical discovery sessions, translating business goals into scalable architectures.
β’ Collaborate with customers, sales teams, solution architects, ISVs, Product Management, engineering, performance teams, and ecosystem partners.
β’ Shape the X10K analytics roadmap priorities and pinpoint competitive gaps.
β’ Empower field sales and presales teams to discover, qualify, position, and architect analytics opportunities.
β’ Over 8 years of experience in technical presales, solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, database architecture, or data engineering.
β’ Profound knowledge of enterprise analytics and modern data architectures, including enterprise data warehouses, analytical databases, data lakes, data lakehouses, distributed data platforms, object storage, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
β’ Experience in designing or supporting large-scale analytics environments.
β’ Strong understanding of characteristics of analytical databases, such as data ingestion, query processing, concurrency, data distribution, partitioning, performance, and capacity scaling.
β’ Familiarity with one or more enterprise analytics platforms, including Vertica, SingleStore, Cloudera, Teradata, or Oracle/Exadata.
β’ Capability to lead architecture discussions based on data and workload requirements.
β’ Proficiency in mapping end-to-end data flows across ingestion, transformation, storage, analytics, and consumption.
β’ Experience in evaluating modernization strategies for traditional database or data warehouse environments.
β’ Ability to comprehend and assess performance requirements for large-scale analytical workloads.
β’ Demonstrated ability to lead customer discovery and translate business and technical requirements into solution architectures.
β’ Excellent communication skills for engaging with both technical and executive audiences.
