Data Migration Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the effective execution of customer data migrations, ensuring that projects are completed accurately and within set deadlines.

• Assess customer datasets to pinpoint inconsistencies, quality concerns, and migration risks, and develop remediation strategies.

• Implement data cleanup and preparation methods to maximize the success of migrated data while maintaining accuracy and integrity.

• Create, modify, maintain, and execute migration scripts and tools.

• Work collaboratively with Customer Success, Support, Product, and Engineering teams to address migration challenges and aid in onboarding.

• Gain a thorough understanding of Commerce7 APIs and associated tools.

• Conduct data validation and quality assurance checks.

• Relay migration results, issues, and subsequent steps to customers and internal stakeholders.

• Address customer inquiries regarding migration outcomes and data-related decisions.

• Oversee multiple migration projects concurrently.

• Propel enhancements to migration processes, tools, documentation, and best practices.

• Lead and manage complex migration projects that involve large datasets or non-standard requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient understanding of scripting concepts and programming fundamentals; experience with JavaScript/Node.js is preferred.

• Experience utilizing technical tools or scripts to automate tasks, manipulate data, or enhance workflow efficiency.

• Familiarity with APIs and the mechanisms through which systems exchange data.

• Background in working with structured data and conducting data analysis or quality reviews.

• Knowledge of data privacy, security best practices, and the responsible management of sensitive customer information.

• Basic comprehension of relational databases and SQL concepts.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in data migration, implementation, data operations, customer onboarding, technical support, or a similar technical role.

• Preferred: Expertise in NodeJS, APIs, and script writing.

• Preferred: Knowledge of asynchronous programming, particularly in JavaScript.

• Preferred: Experience with REST and GraphQL.

• Preferred: Capability to write SQL queries for data analysis, troubleshooting, and validation.
