Data Management Supervisor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Supervise the daily operations of database developers and a statistical analyst.

• Allocate resources to various projects and manage workflows to ensure deadlines are met.

• Set project priorities and tasks through organized project planning.

• Coordinate and provide guidance to direct reports on project requirements and guidelines.

• Design and develop intricate data solutions utilizing AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue, and Lambda, along with PostgreSQL.

• Validate data requirements with stakeholders and incorporate enterprise needs.

• Maintain and enhance departmental data and statistics.

• Collaborate with management to prioritize project deadlines and clarify project expectations and functionalities.

• Apply database principles, cloud data architecture concepts, and functional capabilities across the data landscape.

• Lead the implementation of database standards and protocols.

• Develop standards and methodologies and monitor performance to ensure data quality and integrity.

• Manage the ingestion of large datasets into AWS storage and analytics environments.

• Generate timely reports in response to spontaneous or managerial requests.

• Provide user-friendly front-end tools, views, and reports for analyzing insurance and law enforcement data.

• Contribute to departmental and organizational goals by completing assigned projects.

• Execute other assigned tasks as needed.

• Supervise direct reports and collaborate with NICB employees, members, ISO, data vendors, and strategic partners.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Person, defined as a US Citizen or Green Card Holder.

• Bachelor's degree is required; preferred fields include Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or similar disciplines.

• 2–3 years of IT experience with a solid grasp of relational database concepts and cloud data architecture.

• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or Amazon Redshift in production settings.

• Strong familiarity with Amazon Web Services data processing tools is preferred, including S3, Glue, and Lambda.

• Experience in cloud-based data management, ETL/ELT processes, and data flow design.

• Comprehensive understanding of and experience with server-client environments and relational database systems.

• Expertise in complex SQL query development and troubleshooting cloud-based data pipelines.

• Capability to define data project requirements and oversee ongoing projects.

• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to create clear technical documentation and convey ideas in a user-friendly manner.

• Self-motivated and driven, with a strong attention to detail.

• Proficient in prioritizing and executing tasks effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere.

• Capability to lift 25 lbs.

• Some travel may be necessary.
