Data Intelligence Quality Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Develop and implement SouthState Bank’s comprehensive, enterprise-wide data quality program.

• Create and execute data quality frameworks, standards, policies, procedures, and operational models.

• Integrate data quality into data or AI use-case and onboarding processes where relevant.

• Identify and document essential data elements, business rules, data quality thresholds, and process workflows.

• Gather metadata to assist in the curation of critical data elements within the data catalog.

• Design, construct, and operationalize both automated and manual data quality controls, profiling, and monitoring.

• Supervise the identification of data errors and drive remediation efforts at the source.

• Develop and maintain metrics, scorecards, and Power BI reports related to data quality.

• Manage the lifecycle of data issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement preventive process enhancements.

• Lead and support ongoing data quality initiatives and projects.

• Guide, mentor, and empower Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Data Communities.

• Provide data quality awareness and training while fostering a culture focused on quality.

• Collaborate with IT/Data, Information Security, Risk Management, Compliance, Privacy, and Internal Audit departments.

• Ensure data quality processes align with relevant standards and regulatory requirements.

• Take responsibility for tasks and challenges associated with the designated position.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Business Administration, Analytics, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of experience in data management, data governance, data quality, or a similar data/analytics or process improvement role.

• Proven experience in establishing and executing data quality, data governance, or data management practices.

• Experience in defining critical data elements, business rules, thresholds, and controls.

• Familiarity with data profiling, data issue root-cause analysis, and remediation processes.

• Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

• Project management experience, including the development and execution of project plans and roadmaps.

• Strong understanding of data quality dimensions, frameworks, and industry best practices.

• Working knowledge of data governance, data stewardship, metadata management, and data catalog tools like Atlan.

• Proficiency in SQL and/or data quality tools and Business Intelligence platforms such as Power BI.

• Understanding of banking data, regulatory compliance, and risk management practices.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis abilities.

• Capability to establish a data quality program from the ground up.

• Strong leadership, facilitation skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce executive-ready reports.

• Preferred: experience in banking and knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.

• Preferred: certifications in data management or data quality, project management, and/or relevant data platform certifications.

• Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and through electronic channels.

• Ability to frequently use a computer, including typing and maintaining sustained attention to a monitor.

• Ability to sit, walk, and/or stand for extended periods; ability to bend and reach.
