Data Engineering Intern, 8 months

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Develop scalable and highly available data pipelines utilizing contemporary technologies and tools.

• Create dependable and scalable ELT pipelines to handle large datasets.

• Engage in data-intensive applications while ensuring exceptional data quality and system uptime.

• Collaborate directly with analysts as part of a comprehensive data team.

• Uphold and enhance warehouse governance.

• Implement enhancements in platform operations.

• Construct and sustain pipelines that ingest substantial volumes of data from various sources.

• Develop automated tests to guarantee operational reliability and data integrity.

• Generate data models for analytical and marketing purposes as required.

• Work alongside full-time developers on essential projects that are deployed and actively utilized.

• Take part in team meetings, Slack discussions, and social gatherings.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6-18 months of experience in Data Engineering or Software Engineering.

• Preferably some experience in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Quick learning ability regardless of the languages and technologies employed.

• Proven experience in building scalable data pipelines and robust reporting tools.

• Background in creating backend applications, primarily involving APIs and databases.

• Capability to address complex problems with logical and well-reasoned solutions.

• Candidates must be located in Canada.

• A minimum of 6-hour overlap with the Eastern Time Zone is required.

• Availability for a 40-hour work week is necessary.

• Must be enrolled in or attending a school, college, or university during the internship.

• The internship should be part of an academic program or completed independently, as appropriate.

• Must reside in the country where the educational institution is located for the entire duration of the internship.

• Ability to work core hours from 9/10 am to 5/6 pm EST, Monday to Friday, with some flexibility.
