Data Engineering Capability Coach, Level 5

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Provide coaching and mentorship to a group of learners through individual sessions and workshops.

• Deliver practical data engineering principles in an accessible, relevant manner that is rooted in real-world applications.

• Assist learners in designing and constructing reliable, scalable, and secure data solutions—beyond just functional code.

• Support learners through assessments and portfolio development, maintaining high standards and offering constructive feedback.

• Demonstrate sound professional judgment regarding performance, cost management, security, privacy, and ethical considerations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in a Data Engineer role or a closely related position (Senior / Lead / BI / Data-focused DevOps).

• Solid working knowledge of SQL, including complex queries and optimization techniques.

• Proficiency in Python for developing data pipelines and automation processes.

• Expertise in data modeling and normalization practices.

• Experience in designing batch data pipelines.

• Familiarity with cloud data platforms, with a preference for Azure, but AWS/GCP experience is also welcome.

• Awareness of data security, privacy issues, and ethical data usage.

• Background in coaching, mentoring, or providing support to others.

• Capability to convey complex concepts in a clear and thoughtful manner.

• Azure data engineering certifications (or a willingness to obtain them) are a plus.

• Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, Databricks, and CI/CD is advantageous.

• Experience in workshop facilitation or structured educational delivery is desirable.
