Data Engineer – Semi Senior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable and scalable data pipelines utilizing tools from the Google Cloud Platform ecosystem.

• Integrate various data sources through the consumption and exposure of REST APIs, ensuring proper ingestion and availability of information.

• Manage and transform cloud data using BigQuery, Dataform, and Cloud Storage, ensuring consistency, quality, and performance at each layer of the data model.

• Implement messaging flows and real-time event processing via Pub/Sub, coordinating orchestration among services.

• Document processes, data architectures, and technical decisions to ensure maintainability and knowledge transfer within the team.

• Collaborate with Analytics, Engineering, and Product teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient data solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering roles, actively participating in the implementation of pipelines in production environments.

• Proficiency in Google Cloud Platform, including BigQuery, Dataform, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Storage as core components of the data stack.

• Strong command of Python for developing transformation scripts, automating processes, and consuming APIs.

• Advanced SQL skills for modeling, complex queries, query optimization, and building analytical models in BigQuery.

• Experience with REST API integration: authentication, pagination, error handling, and normalization of data from diverse sources.

• Knowledge of best practices in data engineering: code versioning, pipeline testing, dependency management, and technical documentation.
