Data Engineer, Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Serve as a Databricks Data Engineer on an Oracle E-Business Suite integrated project team, contributing to a multi-Agency program for the Department of War.

• Design, develop, and enhance data pipelines and analytics solutions that facilitate business intelligence reporting stemming from a federal Oracle ERP implementation.

• Create and sustain scalable Databricks/Spark ETL pipelines that source data from Oracle EBS.

• Develop ELT/ETL jobs that integrate various EBS modules, including Financials, Purchasing, Projects, and HR.

• Ensure data integrity, lineage, validation, and reconciliation between EBS and reporting layers.

• Collaborate with functional Oracle EBS Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to transform federal business processes into comprehensive data models.

• Implement federal data governance, cybersecurity, and compliance measures.

• Document integration patterns, data flows, and technical procedures for government review and audit purposes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, along with seven years of experience in Oracle ERP implementation and support.

• Over 5 years of hands-on experience with Databricks data model design, development, and integration.

• Experience in integrating Oracle EBS (R12 / Oracle ERP Cloud) with modern data platforms.

• Proficient in writing optimized SQL, Python, and Spark transformations.

• Familiarity with ETL orchestration tools and methodologies.

• Knowledge of data security, audit requirements, access controls, and handling of PII in regulated programs.

• Ability to interpret EBS data structures such as AP, AR, GL, PO, PA, INV, HR, etc.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and capable of obtaining an IT-2 background investigation.

• Experience with Oracle EBS OAF tables, ESSBASE cubes, or Oracle SaaS reporting APIs.

• Understanding of Advana, DAI, or other DoD financial/ERP ecosystems.

• Experience in working within Federal / DoD / DoW environments, including secure cloud enclaves.

• Experience in supporting audit readiness, traceability, and producing FOIA-compliant data products.

• Familiarity with Databricks ML and AI tools/workflows.

• Experience with Agile/SAFE methodologies.
