Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Serbia.

📋 Description

• Build and sustain the corporate data warehouse tailored for business users, analysts, and machine learning engineers utilizing cloud technologies and best practices in data processing and storage.

• Ensure data synchronization between internal and external systems.

• Create tools for aggregating data into the data warehouse.

• Design and implement EL, ELT, and ETL pipelines.

• Integrate tools and methodologies that uphold data governance and quality standards.

• Manage and optimize costs effectively.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in a Data Engineer role.

• Proven experience in the development and maintenance of data warehouses.

• Familiarity with data warehouse architectures such as Kimball, Inmon, Medallion, and Data Mesh.

• Understanding of data modeling techniques including SCD forms, Normal forms, Star Schema, and Data Vault.

• Proficient in Python and adherence to Python best practices.

• Skilled in SQL along with SQL best practices.

• Knowledge of system design best practices.

• Experience with tools such as Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Docker, GitLab (CI/CD), and Google Cloud Platform.

• Familiar with best practices for data processing and storage.

• Bonus: Experience with REST API, gRPC API, message brokers, and queues.

• Bonus: Background in relational, MPP, and NoSQL data storage systems.

• Bonus: Experience working on Google Cloud Platform.
