Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Romania, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and execute Infrastructure as Code (IaC) utilizing Terraform to automate and manage infrastructure on Azure and Cloudflare.

• Supervise PostgreSQL database operations and automate tasks related to the database.

• Deploy and set up message queues to ensure efficient data processing and communication between services.

• Create and sustain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

• Guarantee infrastructure security by implementing RBAC practices and adhering to compliance and security best practices throughout the DevOps lifecycle.

• Establish and uphold monitoring and observability solutions to track and enhance system performance, pinpoint bottlenecks, and ensure system health.

• Identify and resolve infrastructure-related issues with minimal disruption to services.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficiency in Power BI (essential): knowledge of semantic models, DAX, report definitions authored as PBIP with .pbix deployment, incremental refresh, query folding, and troubleshooting model performance issues (e.g., refresh/XMLA timeouts).

• Expertise in Azure Synapse (essential): experience with notebooks, pipelines, triggers, and workspace management; source-side query optimization skills.

• Strong SQL skills for data validation, transformation, and troubleshooting.

• Proficient in PowerShell scripting, comfortable working across common modules (e.g., Az, MicrosoftPowerBIMgmt) for deployment and operational tasks.

• Familiarity with Azure Functions/function apps and CI/CD deployment workflows.

• Experience with Azure DevOps (work item tracking) and Git/GitHub (branching, pull requests).

• Senior-level experience preferred, demonstrating strong proficiency within this specific tech stack and the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
