Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Transition the SQL Server enterprise data warehouse from Azure virtual machines to AWS, ensuring the ODS to EDW to BI dependency chain is maintained.

• Transfer and reconfigure SSIS packages, including those activated by PowerShell following upstream file downloads.

• Ensure the functionality of over 600 stored procedures and 1,060 pipeline call dependencies.

• Modify stored procedures and dependencies that cannot be migrated in their current form.

• Verify row counts and business metrics against the source data prior to cutover.

• Maintain PowerShell-triggered SSIS executions for CRM and core business application data feeds.

• Oversee the SSISDB-driven ODS and warehouse loading processes throughout the migration.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in developing and managing SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.

• Proficient in advanced T-SQL; capable of interpreting a 500-line stored procedure and clarifying its functionality.

• Familiarity with SQL Server Enterprise Edition in a production environment, including performance optimization.

• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, including star schemas and slowly changing dimensions.

• Ability to discern when to rebuild versus performing a lift-and-shift.

• Practical knowledge of AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3).

• AWS certification is anticipated within the first year if not already obtained.

• Demonstrated experience in validating that a migrated warehouse is accurate, not merely relocated.

• Strong proficiency in written and spoken English in a professional context.
