Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Analyze and execute architectural and configuration modifications for tool improvements, ensuring maintainability, reliability, content management, automation, and system integration.

• Perform technical research and analysis for the development of new or upgraded features such as dashboards, search functionalities, menus, user interactions, and artificial intelligence capabilities.

• Assist with updates to HTML/CSS and address scripting requirements.

• Troubleshoot issues within the technical environment and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve them.

• Conduct end-to-end testing and debugging of tool modifications and enhancements.

• Enhance graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to achieve a consistent aesthetic in IT VoD that aligns with customer specifications.

• Evaluate customer feedback and suggestions, ensuring to follow up on actionable items.

• Engage with customers as necessary.

• Investigate IT VoD feedback from the IRS, validate findings, and follow up as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field (or 4 years of equivalent experience).

• Capability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance, necessitating U.S. Citizenship or a Green Card.

• Over 5 years of experience with IRS Business Processes, UI & Web Design, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, system administration, Java programming, network topology, Microsoft tools, SharePoint, Teams, and Content Management Systems.

• Proficiency in analyzing artifacts such as documents, spreadsheets, and emails to provide constructive input and feedback.

• Ability to independently design, develop, and sustain frontend applications based on JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.

• Skill in implementing server-side logic to ensure uninterrupted data flow between the backend and frontend.

• Experience in writing and executing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.

• Familiarity with debugging application issues and addressing performance bottlenecks.

• Understanding of system development methodologies, including Agile.

• Experience in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

• Strong attention to detail and follow-through capabilities.
