Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance data ingestion pipelines, encompassing source ingestion/scraping, data cleaning, and curation utilizing AWS Glue, entity resolution, and event-driven data publishing.

• Design and uphold dependable batch and event-driven data workflows.

• Identify and rectify identity-resolution challenges, including deduplication and entity matching.

• Create and sustain data quality and validation frameworks.

• Oversee data at the ingestion boundary and detect issues prior to any downstream impact.

• Track data and events throughout the entire process using events bridge and collaborate with downstream identity-service teams.

• Work alongside Product, Assessments, Analytics, engineering, and other key stakeholders.

• Automate infrastructure and pipeline modifications through Infrastructure as Code.

• Construct and manage scalable AWS data infrastructure utilizing Glue, Athena, S3, and event-driven services.

• Engage in production incident response and execute remediation efforts.

• Enhance pipeline reliability, observability, maintainability, and operational processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in developing and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.

• Extensive experience with batch data processing and event-driven architectures.

• Practical experience with AWS Glue, Athena, and S3-based data lakes, including layered/medallion-style data transformations.

• Strong command of Python and SQL for data transformation, processing, and analysis.

• Familiarity with identity resolution, entity matching, or deduplication, including both exact and fuzzy matching techniques.

• Knowledge of durable identifiers and first-seen/locked identity mappings.

• Experience with event schemas and schema-registry-backed contracts such as Protobuf.

• Excellent troubleshooting and production incident-response capabilities.

• Proficiency in understanding and debugging code written in functional or concurrent programming languages such as Elixir.
