Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and sustain data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows to gather, cleanse, and transform data from diverse sources into actionable formats.

• Maintain data integrity, quality, and accuracy throughout the entire data processing lifecycle.

• Analyze and interpret healthcare claims data along with related datasets to uncover patterns, trends, and insights.

• Create reports, dashboards, and visualizations to effectively communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.

• Design, develop, and manage databases, data models, and schemas for efficient data storage and retrieval.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including health policy experts, analysts, and healthcare stakeholders, to grasp business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data analysis, engineering, and visualization.

• Spot opportunities to enhance data infrastructure, processes, and analytical capabilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of health data, multi-payer databases, public healthcare payers, claims processing, and claims data analytics.

• Understanding of US healthcare policy, trends, and factors such as eligibility, utilization, cost, and equity.

• Awareness of the role of state government in healthcare.

• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization using tools such as SQL, Python, R, Excel, or similar technologies.

• Expertise in data profiling, manipulation, and transformation utilizing tools like Pandas, SQL, or equivalent.

• Mastery of data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI.

• Familiarity with data modeling, database management, and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning concepts.

• Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of presenting complex findings clearly and concisely.

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in healthcare administration, data science, statistics, or equivalent professional experience is preferred.

• Over 5 years of experience in SQL.

• More than 5 years of experience as a data analyst in the healthcare sector, preferably within claims.

• Ability to endure prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
