Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee, integrate, replicate, alert, analyze, fine-tune, troubleshoot, report on, and deliver production assistance for databases.

• Execute SQL Server software upgrades, service packs, and version updates, including testing and evaluation of patching strategies.

• Collaborate with functional DBAs regarding database operations, hardware architecture, and security measures.

• Develop primary database storage frameworks, database objects, and migration scripts.

• Design database architecture and uphold performance and tuning standards.

• Enhance database performance, security, and user access levels.

• Manage storage allocation and anticipate space needs.

• Identify long-running queries and transactions causing blocks.

• Schedule, automate, execute, and monitor jobs as well as system performance.

• Conduct capacity planning activities.

• Adjust database structures as necessary.

• Provide database application support across production, testing, staging, and various other environments.

• Formulate backup and recovery protocols.

• Define security roles, database access permissions, and controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree.

• Minimum of 5 years in database management and administration.

• At least 1 year of experience with a federal agency or federal contractor.

• Over 3 years of Information Technology experience.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Selected applicants may undergo a government security investigation and must satisfy eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
