Data Collection Specialist, Bilingual / Data Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct qualitative data gathering, including key informant interviews and focus groups in both English and Spanish.

• Collaborate with federally funded health departments, recipients, and subrecipients to recruit participants.

• Create and execute recruitment and outreach strategies in partnership with collaborators.

• Establish and nurture relationships with community partners across various jurisdictions.

• Secure informed consent prior to data collection.

• Record focus groups and key informant interviews with appropriate permissions.

• Maintain comprehensive field notes and documentation.

• Engage in pilot testing and cognitive testing of data collection tools in English and Spanish.

• Transcribe or review qualitative data transcriptions.

• Clean qualitative transcripts and quantitative survey data.

• Apply codebooks to qualitative data utilizing qualitative analysis software.

• Assist with initial qualitative and quantitative data analyses.

• Generate descriptive statistics and frequency distributions.

• Create tables, figures, and graphics to effectively communicate key findings.

• Contribute to the summarization of preliminary findings and dissemination materials.

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust and successfully complete a background investigation.

• Must be able to gain and maintain access to federal facilities as required.

• Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

• Master's of Science degree with 8 years of experience OR Bachelor's of Science degree with 10 years of experience in public health, social sciences, psychology, sociology, or related fields.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in conducting qualitative data collection, including interviews and focus groups.

• Experience with sensitive populations and/or public health research.

• Proven experience in data management and qualitative data analysis.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking skills.

• Capability to conduct professional interviews and facilitate focus groups in both languages.

• Cultural competence in working with Spanish-speaking communities.

• Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, MAXQDA, or Dedoose.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Experience with qualitative data analysis software like SPSS, SAS, Stata, or R is preferred.

• Preference for candidates with experience in overdose prevention, substance use disorder, or harm reduction programs.

• Familiarity with federal public health programs and evaluation methodologies is preferred.

• Experience with federal cooperative agreements is preferred.

• Knowledge of emergency medical services, navigation services, or community-based prevention programs is preferred.

• Experience with human subjects' research and IRB protocols is preferred.

• Certification in qualitative research methods is preferred.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data quality.

• Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
