Data Collection Specialist, Bilingual / Data Research Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct qualitative data gathering through key informant interviews and focus groups in both English and Spanish.

• Collaborate with federally funded health departments, recipients, and subrecipients to recruit participants.

• Develop and execute recruitment and outreach initiatives with partners.

• Build and nurture relationships with community partners across various jurisdictions.

• Secure informed consent from participants prior to data collection.

• Record focus groups and key informant interviews with appropriate permissions.

• Maintain comprehensive field notes and documentation.

• Engage in pilot testing and cognitive testing of data collection tools in English and Spanish.

• Transcribe or oversee the transcription of qualitative data.

• Clean qualitative transcripts and quantitative survey data.

• Utilize codebooks for qualitative data analysis using qualitative analysis software.

• Assist in initial qualitative and quantitative data analyses.

• Generate descriptive statistics and frequency distributions.

• Create tables, figures, and graphics to effectively communicate key findings.

• Contribute to the preparation of summaries of preliminary findings and dissemination materials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible to obtain a Public Trust and successfully complete a background investigation.

• Must be capable of obtaining and maintaining federal facility access as required.

• Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement.

• Requires either a Master of Science degree with 8 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor of Science degree with 10 years of relevant experience in public health, social sciences, psychology, sociology, or related fields.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in qualitative data collection, including conducting interviews and focus groups.

• Experience working with sensitive populations and/or in public health research is essential.

• Demonstrated expertise in data management and qualitative data analysis.

• Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking skills.

• Ability to conduct professional interviews and facilitate focus groups in both languages.

• Cultural competence in engaging with Spanish-speaking populations is necessary.

• Proficiency in qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, MAXQDA, or Dedoose.

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Prior experience with qualitative data analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, or R is preferred.

• Experience in overdose prevention, substance use disorder, or harm reduction programs is preferred.

• Familiarity with federal public health programs and evaluation methodologies is preferred.

• Experience working with federal cooperative agreements is preferred.

• Knowledge of emergency medical services, navigation services, or community-based prevention programs is preferred.

• Experience with human subjects’ research and IRB protocols is preferred.

• Certification in qualitative research methods is preferred.

• Excellent skills in data management, organization, interpersonal communication, attention to detail, and time management.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Capacity to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
