This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Ensure technical governance and assurance across client data center environments.
• Lead or assist in the daily operational management of designated sites and client accounts.
• Facilitate due diligence reviews for acquisitions, new constructions, and upgrades.
• Execute technical and operational performance assessments.
• Formulate recommendations and action plans to mitigate risks, address inefficiencies, and strengthen resilience.
• Oversee maintenance delivery, change control, incident response, emergency preparedness, and documentation management.
• Guide, develop, and support operational and engineering teams.
• Set expectations, accountabilities, performance metrics, and development programs.
• Collaborate with HR on recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, succession planning, and retention strategies.
• Maintain competency matrices and training schedules.
• Assist with mobilization and readiness evaluations for new data centers, infrastructure upgrades, and operational transitions.
• Assess operational processes, documentation, and technical capabilities.
• Advise clients on achieving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
• Analyze infrastructure design, resilience, maintenance, and lifecycle condition.
• Prepare technical due diligence reports and recommendations for clients and investors.
• Lead or support post-incident reviews, fault investigations, and operational failure analyses.
• Serve as a High Voltage Authorised Person for assigned sites or advisory projects when designated.
• Manage HV/MV personnel appointments, authorizations, and competency validations.
• Uphold safe working systems, electrical safety documentation, switching schedules, and permit systems.
• Conduct or assist with electrical safety audits.
• Act as the senior operational contact for assigned clients.
• Facilitate client meetings, performance reviews, service improvement discussions, and incident communications.
• Manage relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and service partners.
• Coordinate with finance and commercial teams on billing, purchase orders, cost tracking, budgets, and financial reporting.
• Assist with payroll and people-related processes in collaboration with HR and finance.
• Contribute to account plans, proposals, and strategic development initiatives.
• Engage in structured development in AI and its applications in data centers.
• Identify opportunities for AI, automation, and data-driven insights to enhance reporting, maintenance planning, risk management, knowledge management, and productivity.
• Implement AI and digital tools while adhering to confidentiality, data security, and governance standards.
• Contribute to the development of internal standards, templates, methodologies, knowledge-sharing practices, and competency enhancement.
• Strong technical knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical systems and operational interfaces.
• Experience in technical due diligence, operational readiness, mobilization, and performance evaluation.
• Familiarity with colocation operations, lifecycle management, and industry best practices.
• Understanding and application of ISO 9001, ISO 55000, ISO 50001, and Uptime Institute operational guidelines.
• Possess or qualify for the role of High Voltage Authorised Person (HVAP), with demonstrated experience in HV and MV systems.
• Experience in preparing and issuing safety documentation and executing isolation procedures.
• Ability to evaluate competence and manage authorized personnel.
• Proven experience in leading operational teams and overseeing performance, development, training, and succession planning.
• Experience in managing client relationships, suppliers, service partners, and senior internal stakeholders.
• Commercial acumen, including budgeting, billing, financial controls, vendor performance, and account development.
• Interest in AI, automation, and operational data.
• Strong communication skills with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
• At least seven years of experience in data center or critical infrastructure operations.
• Established experience in technical due diligence, operational readiness, operational management, or advisory services.
• Experience in leading technical or operational teams in a client-facing capacity.
• Recognized High Voltage Authorised Person qualification or equivalent experience suitable for appointment.
• Familiarity with ISO and Uptime Institute operational standards.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement, reporting, technical governance, and vendor management.
• Proficient in supporting budgets, billing, procurement, or account performance.
• Fluent in English.
• Willingness to travel across Europe.
• Successful completion of background vetting as a requirement for employment.
• A degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering is preferred; HNC, HND, or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering will also be considered.
