
Data Center Surge Technician β Travel Team

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Join the centralized travel team at EOS IT Solutions, supporting data center operations throughout North America.
β’ Assist with the initiation of new sites, large-scale infrastructure deployments, SLA recovery initiatives, and addressing critical operational deficiencies.
β’ Carry out high-volume rack and stack deployments in both live and non-live settings.
β’ Install, terminate, and manage both single-mode and multi-mode fiber, as well as copper cabling systems.
β’ Conduct fiber splicing, cleaning, testing, troubleshooting, OTDR testing, and fault isolation.
β’ Support the construction of physical infrastructures, including cable routing, ladder racking, and power distribution.
β’ Read and verify port maps, rack elevations, and infrastructure designs.
β’ Diagnose and resolve hardware problems across servers, switches, and network components.
β’ Replace faulty components such as PSUs, NICs, and fans with minimal disruption to service.
β’ Execute live service swaps and assist production environments within SLA requirements.
β’ Perform physical layer troubleshooting of ports, cabling, and connectivity issues.
β’ Quickly integrate into new sites, contributing significantly within 24β72 hours of arrival.
β’ Adhere to MOPs, CMOPs, and safety protocols.
β’ Document activities through ticketing systems and operational logs.
β’ Support both planned deployment tasks and reactive break/fix scenarios.
β’ Work in client-facing environments, ensuring high visibility and accountability.
β’ Meet deployment targets, ticket closure rates, and SLA performance metrics.
β’ Adapt to new environments, teams, and operational conditions seamlessly.
β’ Represent EOS in complex settings, delivering immediate results for service continuity and client satisfaction.
β’ 2β5+ years of hands-on experience in data center operations, infrastructure deployment, or break/fix repair.
β’ Strong expertise in rack and stack, cabling, and hardware installation.
β’ Proven experience with fiber, with a preference for splicing, as well as OTDR testing and troubleshooting.
β’ Familiarity with hardware from Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and x86 servers.
β’ Experience with low voltage systems and adherence to industry standards (BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA).
β’ Capability to interpret technical diagrams, port maps, and infrastructure documentation.
β’ Experience with ticketing/workflow systems (e.g., ServiceNow or similar).
β’ Familiarity with infrastructure documentation, inventory, and asset management systems.
β’ Ability to operate within client-specific tools, dashboards, and reporting frameworks.
β’ Willingness to mobilize within 24β48 hours of notification.
β’ Openness to travel 70β90% of the time across various locations in the U.S.
β’ Capacity to support extended deployments (2β4+ weeks or longer).
β’ Comfortable with working and residing in hotel-based environments for prolonged periods.
β’ Flexibility to work day/night shifts, overtime, and weekends.
β’ Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
β’ Capability to work in confined spaces, stand for extended durations, and operate in diverse environmental conditions.
β’ Manual dexterity to handle small and intricate components.
β’ Valid driverβs license and the ability to travel as needed.
β’ Willingness to undergo background checks and fulfill client-specific onboarding prerequisites.
