This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Identify, assess, and collaborate with both domestic and international architecture vendors, as well as local permitting and code consultants.

• Ensure that building designs and permit submissions adhere to local building, fire, and life-safety regulations.

• Take ownership of early-stage architectural due diligence for new global sites.

• Analyze local zoning, building codes, and permitting processes; identify potential approval risks.

• Create and sustain standardized architectural concepts for MDC buildings, auxiliary structures, and campus designs.

• Personally design architectural layouts for new products and unique site conditions.

• Connect Armada's product and engineering teams with architects, general contractors, and local code consultants.

• Guarantee that life-safety, occupancy, and operational workflow needs are integrated throughout the design, fabrication, installation, and final construction phases.

• Uphold architectural standards, develop permitting checklists, and manage code-compliance processes.

• Monitor architectural and permitting progress across active sites.

• Provide final approval confirming that sites are permitted, compliant with codes, and ready for operational transition.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field.

• Professional licensure (RA/AIA or an equivalent international credential).

• 5–7 years of practical experience directing architectural design and permitting for ground-up commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects.

• Direct engagement with local AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction).

• Capability to independently conduct architectural design in-house for innovative products and site conditions.

• Proficient understanding of the IBC and similar international building, fire, and life-safety codes.

• Ability to work with a high level of independence.

• Willingness and capacity to travel approximately 20–30% to project sites, vendor offices, and construction sites globally.
