Data Base Administrator, MS SQL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop advanced T-SQL scripts for MS SQL Server versions 2008 to 2019.

• Evaluate and review SQL code produced by developers.

• Analyze execution plans and troubleshoot any related issues.

• Enhance database performance, focusing on queries, indexes, locking, disk usage, and memory optimization.

• Detect and resolve system bottlenecks quickly and remotely.

• Assist in the support and maintenance of an AlwaysOn availability group with both primary and mirrored servers.

• Aid analysts and machine learning engineers with data access and retrieval processes.

• Conduct database maintenance tasks, including archiving, implementing recovery strategies, enforcing security policies, and performing data integrity checks.

• Monitor server performance to proactively mitigate incidents.


⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience with MS SQL Server from 2008 to 2019.

• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft SQL Server architecture and its internals.

• Exceptional T-SQL skills coupled with significant developer-level scripting experience.

• Familiarity with stored procedures, user-defined functions (UDFs), triggers, and distributed transactions.

• Strong foundation in relational database principles.

• Proven track record of optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

• Capable of reading and comprehending code authored by others.

• Ability to independently identify logical errors through database structure and code analysis.

• Experience managing high-load databases that reach tens of terabytes.
