Data Architect – Radiology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct technical and analytical tasks to design, develop, and support applications for research and clinical functions.

• Engage in the design and creation of informatics solutions utilizing software engineering knowledge.

• Maintain, alter, or implement intricate interconnected applications and solutions.

• Implement essential XNAT features and manage XNAT software releases.

• Discover and pursue methods to acquire, store, and deliver data more effectively.

• Provide guidance on data integration initiatives for projects.

• Research and explore new and enhanced data sources.

• Promote efficient data-sharing practices.

• Establish, maintain, and update data management protocols and procedures.

• Offer scope and time estimates for data-related projects.

• Assess project data requirements and recommend suitable approaches and solutions.

• Create and sustain data diagrams and models.

• Develop, evaluate, and refine project code and other materials to enhance data performance.

• Deliver reliable, thoroughly tested XNAT releases on a consistent schedule.

• Minimize open XNAT defects and technical liabilities in core modules.

• Expand the platform’s capabilities.

• Act as a technical liaison for institutional partners integrating with or enhancing XNAT.

• Mentor junior software engineers, technical staff, and students.

• Design and execute unit tests.

• Work autonomously with little supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted in lieu of minimum education requirements.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data-related work.

• Proficiency in PostgreSQL.

• Direct experience in developing on or managing the XNAT platform, or a similar medical imaging informatics/PACS-adjacent research platform (preferred).

• Familiarity with DICOM standards and medical imaging data formats and workflows (preferred).

• Experience in leading or significantly contributing to release management for a production software platform, including versioning, CI/CD, regression testing, and rollout coordination (preferred).

• Participation in or maintenance of an open-source project, including community code review and issue triage (preferred).

• Experience in crafting test plans (preferred).

• Knowledge of Linux server administration, particularly in RHEL deployment environments (preferred).
