Data Architect – Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Define and drive enterprise data architecture strategies that align with business goals and technology roadmaps.

• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Databricks.

• Establish architecture standards, reusable design patterns, and governance frameworks.

• Lead initiatives for cloud data modernization and migration from legacy platforms to cloud-native architectures.

• Create architecture blueprints, reference architectures, and implementation roadmaps.

• Architect and implement Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse, Fabric Data Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Real-Time Analytics, OneLake, and Power BI integrations.

• Design Medallion Architecture within the Microsoft Fabric environment.

• Drive deployment strategies for Fabric, performance optimization, and governance of the environment.

• Implement security measures, access controls, lineage tracking, monitoring, and data lifecycle management.

• Design and implement enterprise data solutions on Azure, including ingestion, transformation, storage, and consumption frameworks.

• Propel initiatives for cloud adoption and optimization.

• Architect and optimize Databricks Lakehouse solutions.

• Lead implementations of Apache Spark, PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows, Auto Loader, and Delta Live Tables.

• Design large-scale batch and real-time data pipelines.

• Optimize Spark processing, cluster utilization, and workload performance.

• Define data governance standards and execute metadata management, lineage tracking, cataloging, and data quality frameworks.

• Collaborate with security teams to ensure data privacy, compliance, and adherence to regulations.

• Facilitate business-friendly data discovery and self-service analytics.

• Work in partnership with business leaders, product owners, engineering teams, and program stakeholders.

• Translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures.

• Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and forums for solution governance.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.

• At least 10 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or leadership roles within Data Platforms.

• Extensive experience in designing and architecting data solutions in cloud environments.

• Proficient with Microsoft Fabric, including Fabric Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, OneLake, Data Pipelines, Fabric Security & Governance, Real-Time Analytics, and Power BI Integration.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Key Vault, Azure Functions, Azure Event Hub, and Azure DevOps.

• Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Databricks Workflows, Delta Live Tables, and Auto Loader.

• Proficient in Apache Spark, PySpark, SQL, Python, data modeling, and ETL/ELT design methodologies.

• Knowledgeable about Medallion Architecture, Lakehouse Architecture, data governance, metadata management, data lineage, data quality frameworks, and CI/CD & DevOps practices.

• Experience with Data Mesh is preferred.

• Background in the insurance domain is highly desirable.
