Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design enterprise data and data management strategies within the MSI ecosystem.

• Collaborate with Solution Architects, DBAs, Business Intelligence teams, as well as product and business leaders.

• Create Lakehouses and Data Warehouses that support increasing analytics demands.

• Contribute to the formulation of MSI’s data strategy.

• Establish a maintenance program that aligns the operating environment with business objectives.

• Continuously assess data architecture in light of evolving requirements.

• Coordinate data requirements with new system and product designs.

• Design and implement data architectures that facilitate data integration, advanced analytics, and data science initiatives.

• Enhance processes and practices related to data lakes, data warehouses, and data orchestration.

• Develop philosophies and plans for enterprise data migration and integration.

• Document both conceptual and logical data models.

• Work alongside Business Intelligence on designs involving semi-structured and unstructured data.

• Oversee and manage initiatives related to data migration and integration between business operational systems.

• Contribute to processes and protocols for data management.

• Support data security measures and backup processes and protocols.

• Optimize functions related to data.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of ten years in data architecture and systems engineering, including a decade in a senior role responsible for corporate data security protocols.

• At least ten years of experience managing data integrations across various platforms.

• Proficiency in cloud-based data architecture, databases, and orchestration tools.

• Familiarity with Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop.

• Experience with PySpark and SparkSQL.

• Understanding of semi-structured and unstructured data architectures as well as schema-on-read techniques.

• Extensive experience with MS Azure SQL databases.

• In-depth knowledge of MS Azure Environment, Microsoft Fabric, and associated services.

• Functional expertise with a leading cloud-based database platform, including the development and maintenance of code.

• Proven experience in analyzing current environments and creating and executing plans to enhance performance and user experience.

• Background in managing enterprise data across multiple unique and cloud-based environments.

• Detail-oriented and proactive in taking steps to prevent or mitigate issues.

• Basic understanding of project management principles.

• Ability to make decisions that prioritize the best interests of the firm and its end-users.

• Capacity to exemplify the firm’s core values and behaviors in line with the corporate culture.

• Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field is required.

• A Master’s degree is preferred.
