Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Serve as a hands-on technical authority and contributor to solution-oriented architecture.

• Assist in crafting the organization’s cloud and data architecture.

• Collaborate with enterprise architects, senior architects, business leaders, and IT teams to establish solution architectures.

• Facilitate modernization projects focused on performance, efficiency, and cost optimization.

• Investigate emerging technologies, such as Generative AI and Advanced Analytics, in conjunction with the Innovation Lab.

• Convert experimental findings into actionable patterns and recommendations for delivery teams.

• Shape architectural decisions and contribute to team standards and governance frameworks.

• Develop solution architectures that align with a cohesive IT data strategy.

• Document target-state architectures, reference architectures, and crucial dependencies.

• Design and assist in the modernization and migration of intricate systems to scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud architectures.

• Assess and prototype new technologies and applications.

• Provide insights for business cases and strategic recommendations.

• Implement architectural standards, best practices, and governance expectations.

• Work alongside business and engineering teams to devise end-to-end solutions.

• Offer architectural guidance on process design, system orchestration, and enterprise integration.

• Advocate for security, resilience, and scalability across data platforms and solutions.

• Generate reusable patterns, documentation on decisions made, and lessons learned.

• Support full-stack development teams in solution design and implementation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in delivering data-intensive solutions.

• At least 1 year of proven ownership in solution design for moderately complex initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience in various data-focused roles, including data engineering, data architecture, database administration, BI or analytics engineering, data science, or data governance.

• Proficient in architecture frameworks, performance optimization, availability, caching, monitoring, scalability, and security.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking skills.

• Capability to influence cross-functional teams and articulate architectural decisions clearly in distributed environments.

• Extensive knowledge in data and cloud architecture; AWS preferred.

• Experience with Snowflake or Redshift.

• Ability to convert complex data into actionable business insights and reporting solutions.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Preferred experience with ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration, data quality, and batch and near-real-time workloads.

• Preferred experience with streaming and event-driven data using Kafka or Kinesis.

• Preferred experience in API and integration.

• Preferred experience with data platform modernization utilizing Spark or similar distributed computing technologies.

• Preferred experience in data security and privacy.

• Preferred experience in managing cloud cost and performance using FinOps practices.

• Preferred experience in DevOps for data, including CI/CD, infrastructure as code, Kubernetes, or EKS.

• Preferred experience in applied AI and GenAI.

• Preferred experience with Java, microservices, and third-party API integration.

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification is a plus.

• Education should include a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
