
Data and Informatics Products Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Define and take ownership of the product strategy and roadmap for data and informatics offerings.
• Prioritize products based on market demand, technical feasibility, and commercial return.
• Translate platform capabilities into external product requirements in collaboration with Genomic Technology.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle from concept through to launch and subsequent iterations.
• Lead early access and design partner programs to gather essential market feedback.
• Establish pricing, packaging, and delivery models for data products.
• Conduct market and customer discovery with laboratories, software providers, and other buyers.
• Transform customer discovery insights into product decisions and documented requirements.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance teams regarding patient consent, privacy, and regulatory constraints.
• Define controls that ensure data products are defensible.
• Represent the data product portfolio to executive leadership, including updates on roadmap status, commercial performance, and investment needs.
• Develop repeatable data product management practices and documentation.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience.
• 10 years of experience in product management.
• At least 5 years of experience developing and commercializing data, software, or informatics products.
• Experience managing multiple functions or overseeing one substantial function.
• Proven track record of commercial performance, including taking products from definition to external launch and generating revenue.
• Experience in translating technical platform capabilities into customer-facing offerings while working directly with engineering and data science teams.
• Working knowledge of the regulatory and privacy landscape governing health or genomic data.
• Strong commercial judgment, with the ability to assess opportunities and justify estimates.
• Clear written product definitions, including requirements that engineering teams can effectively build against.
• Ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority across technology, legal, compliance, and commercial functions.
• Comfort with ambiguity and the capability to make decisions with incomplete information, while clearly expressing confidence in those decisions.
• Direct and straightforward communication skills for both executive and technical audiences.
• Preferred: Advanced degree in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related discipline.
• Preferred: Experience in clinical diagnostics, genomics, or a laboratory setting.
• Preferred: Familiarity with variant interpretation, genomic knowledge bases, and clinical decision support.
• Preferred: Experience with design partner or early access programs in a regulated environment.
• Remote work arrangement.
• Approximately 10–20% travel, including customer and partner visits and occasional time in Houston.
• Occasional work outside standard hours to accommodate partners in different time zones.
