D365 F&O Functional Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Oversee functional activities associated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.

• Collect, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders in finance, accounting, collections, and supply chain.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, solution designs, and system configurations.

• Conduct fit-gap analysis and suggest either standard D365 F&O functionalities or custom solutions.

• Facilitate functional workshops, engage in requirements discussions, conduct solution walkthroughs, and lead stakeholder meetings.

• Configure and provide support for General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash and Bank Management.

• Oversee and resolve issues related to month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, transaction postings, and financial reporting.

• Configure and enhance cash application, payment matching, collections, and receivables processes.

• Offer functional expertise across procurement, inventory management, product information, order processing, and supply chain workflows.

• Perform hands-on configuration for D365 F&O and maintain system parameters, master data settings, tables, and functional setups.

• Write, modify, and troubleshoot X++ code along with D365 F&O customizations.

• Support integrations, data entities, custom business logic, and technical components.

• Develop and execute functional test scenarios while supporting System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Investigate application defects, configuration issues, transaction errors, and production incidents.

• Act as the functional lead and primary contact for assigned D365 F&O workstreams.

• Prepare specifications, configuration documentation, process flows, test scenarios, implementation notes, and project updates.

• Coordinate efforts among finance, supply chain, technical teams, business users, and leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.

• Strong functional expertise in D365 F&O Finance and Supply Chain Management.

• In-depth knowledge of financial setups, transaction processing, and system configuration.

• Proven experience in supporting month-end closing and financial reconciliation processes.

• Strong hands-on experience with cash application, Accounts Receivable, and collections.

• Understanding of D365 F&O tables, data structures, relationships, and transaction flows.

• Ability to write, modify, debug, or troubleshoot code and assist with custom modifications in D365 F&O.

• Knowledge of X++ and D365 F&O development concepts.

• Experience with functional specifications, fit-gap analysis, testing, and production support.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced contract environment and handle competing priorities.

• Must reside in the United States and be available during US East Coast business hours.

• Must be willing to travel to Philadelphia, PA, occasionally as needed.

• Preferred: experience in leading D365 F&O implementations, enhancements, or application support projects.

• Preferred: experience in supporting complex finance and supply chain business processes.

• Preferred: familiarity with D365 F&O integrations, data entities, and financial data migration.

• Preferred: experience with code review, defect resolution, and coordination of functional and technical changes.

• Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure DevOps, and D365 F&O release management.

• Preferred: relevant Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications.

• Preferred: experience working directly with finance, accounting, and operations stakeholders based in the United States.
