Cybersecurity Tools Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Engineer, configure, integrate, and maintain cybersecurity tools that facilitate detection, prevention, vulnerability management, configuration management, and compliance.

• Create implementation plans for tools, establish configuration standards, develop operating procedures, and produce technical documentation.

• Integrate data from tools with security operations, asset management, ticketing, reporting, and continuous monitoring processes.

• Evaluate tool performance, identify coverage gaps, assess alerts, and analyze data quality; propose enhancements.

• Assist with upgrades, testing, troubleshooting, and the operational transition of security tool functionalities.

• Contribute to the Department of Veterans Affairs COSE program, which protects VA systems, data, and mission execution.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience.

• Five or more years of experience in cybersecurity tool engineering, security operations, systems administration, or a related technical role.

• Practical experience with one or more categories of tools, such as SIEM, vulnerability management, endpoint detection and response, identity management, security configuration management, or GRC platforms.

• Experience in tool integration, security data analysis, and the documentation of technical configurations and procedures.

• Strong skills in troubleshooting, automation, and technical documentation.

• Selected applicants will undergo a security investigation and may be required to meet eligibility criteria for access to classified information.
