Cybersecurity Ops Associate – 2nd Shift

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Oversee and evaluate security incidents for the continuous 24/7/365 Enterprise Security Operations Center Detection & Response team.

• Utilize SIEM and track firewall logs, system logs, intrusion detection systems, applications, databases, cloud infrastructure, and various security information sources.

• React to and escalate events and potential intrusion or security breach notifications.

• Gather historical incident data for trend analysis and enhancements in security measures.

• Aid in incident containment to thwart unauthorized access or data breaches.

• Investigate and either approve or deny IP/URL block requests.

• Create signature patterns and provide feedback for signature tuning to enhance anomaly detection.

• Generate and manage incident tickets.

• Conduct PCAP analysis and correlate events.

• Assess incident urgency and potential impact.

• Analyze activities of malicious actors, infection pathways, timelines, and related data loss.

• Formulate and maintain SOPs, incident reports, policies, and other security-related documentation.

• Communicate and escalate issues and alerts as per established processes or management directives.

• Assist with various activities of the Enterprise Security Operations Center.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline; an additional 4+ years of experience may substitute for a degree.

• Must hold a CompTIA Security+ certification.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

• Must be available to work flexible hours in a 24/7/365 setting.

• Proficient understanding of security architectures and devices.

• Working knowledge of operating systems, network security, protocols, application security, infrastructure hardening, and security baselines.

• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Self-driven and quick to learn.
