Cybersecurity Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Assist in automating IT processes.

• Aid in the documentation of security practices and procedures.

• Evaluate, implement, and validate automation workflows.

• Help design, test, and deploy a virtual desktop environment.

• Investigate, configure, and document optimal practices for secure remote access.

• Perform audits on tenant security settings.

• Identify system deficiencies and potential vulnerabilities.

• Prepare remediation suggestions, including patching strategies and system hardening techniques.

• Work collaboratively with senior IT and cybersecurity personnel on daily monitoring, compliance reporting, and risk management activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a college or university in Virginia.

• Status as an upperclassman.

• Major in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or comparable enterprise platforms.

• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and frameworks.

• Strong skills in research, documentation, and technical writing.

• Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail.

• U.S. citizenship may be required for access to specific systems or data.

• Capability to work both independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
