Cybersecurity Engineer I – FIM

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Operate and manage existing cybersecurity solutions and platforms.

• Analyze logs and reports from security tools, workstations, servers, and network devices.

• Investigate unusual activities and assist in the preliminary investigation of potential security incidents.

• Engage in the rotation of the cybersecurity ticket queue and on-call duties.

• Maintain the configurations of security solutions in line with established baselines and best practices.

• Participate in vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.

• Provide on-call support for end users and security solutions.

• Oversee the operation of security solutions to ensure they function efficiently and effectively.

• Research and assess emerging security tools, techniques, and technologies.

• Suggest and implement enhancements or new security solutions.

• Take part in cybersecurity projects and departmental initiatives.

• Manage the daily operations of assigned security solutions.

• Join the incident response team and contribute to incident response planning and testing.

• Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate Degree (or equivalent experience) from a regionally accredited institution in Information Security, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.

• A minimum of two (2) years of direct Cybersecurity experience, ideally as a cybersecurity engineer or in a similar position focused on maintaining cybersecurity safeguards in a financial institution.

• Preferred experience in managing and operating current security platforms.

• One or more GIAC certifications, such as GSEC, GCIH, GMON, GCIA, GSOC, GCED, or GCDA, are preferred.

• CompTIA certifications, such as Security+ or CySA+, are also preferred.

• Strong security mindset with a comprehension of regulatory requirements and security best practices in the financial sector.

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

• Capability to research security issues and products.

• Skill in presenting ideas in both business-friendly and user-friendly terminology.

• Highly self-motivated and directed.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively.

• Must maintain a secure, private, and distraction-free home office with a reliable private internet connection not provided by cellular data.
