Cybersecurity Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage and sustain existing cybersecurity solutions and platforms.

• Analyze logs and reports generated by security tools, workstations, servers, and network devices.

• Assess security events and provide insights to leadership.

• Engage in investigations of unusual activities.

• Act as a first responder and aid in the preliminary investigations of potential security incidents.

• Support the rotation of the cybersecurity operations ticket queue.

• Participate in the on-call rotation for cybersecurity.

• Ensure operational configurations align with established baselines and security best practices.

• Contribute to vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.

• Offer on-call assistance for end-users and security solutions.

• Monitor security solutions to ensure they operate efficiently and appropriately.

• Stay updated on the IT security landscape, including emerging threats, solutions, processes, tools, techniques, and technologies.

• Suggest and implement additional or improved security solutions.

• Engage in projects and initiatives within the department.

• Support internal security projects.

• Conduct daily management of assigned security solutions.

• Participate in the incident response team as required.

• Take part in incident response planning and testing exercises.

• Ensure adherence to bank policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Associate Degree (or equivalent work experience) from a regionally accredited institution in Information Security, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience in Cybersecurity, ideally in a role such as a cybersecurity engineer at a financial institution responsible for maintaining cybersecurity safeguards.

• Prior experience with current security platforms is preferred.

• One or more relevant cybersecurity certifications are preferred, including GIAC or CompTIA certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, GCIH, GMON, GCIA, GSOC, GCED, or GCDA.

• Strong security awareness and comprehension of regulatory requirements and security best practices within the financial sector.

• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize and manage tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

• Capability to research security issues and products.

• Proficient in presenting information in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner.

• Highly self-motivated and proactive.

• Strong attention to detail.

• Team-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively.

• Must be able to access and interpret information on computer screens, documents, reports, and cash denominations, and identify customers effectively.

• Must have a secure home office and a reliable private internet connection, not provided by cellular data.

• Travel may be necessary for attending meetings as required.
