Cybersecurity Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work closely with clients to design, implement, and evaluate security requirements for both classified and non-classified systems.

• Create and execute designs along with documented evaluations of security controls.

• Apply cybersecurity best practices throughout the design, construction, and commissioning phases of projects by utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) established by NIST.

• Supervise the creation and execution of Plans of Actions and Milestones (POA&M).

• Request Exceptions (RFE) to record non-compliant security controls and collaborate with stakeholders to establish remediation timelines.

• Aid in the configuration of secure systems.

• Conduct tests on security products and systems to identify weaknesses in computer and information security.

• Work collaboratively across project teams and disciplines to support federal government clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.

• A combination of relevant industrial security experience will be taken into account.

• At least 5 years of experience in working with and implementing the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and the NIST Special Publication series guidelines, recommendations, and reference materials as they pertain to military systems.

• Experience in cybersecurity, engineering, cybersecurity solution development, or remediation of security vulnerabilities.

• Specialized knowledge in cybersecurity training and awareness, investigations, systems security administration, and network security controls.

• Familiarity with the RMF 6-Step process as part of DoD programs.

• Must have a current Department of Defense (DoD) Directive 8570 / 8140 IAT Level II Certification.

• Capability to transfer, secure, and maintain a U.S. government security clearance.
