Cybersecurity Advisor – Threat Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +7 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as a reliable cybersecurity partner for Optiv clients

• Develop practical, scalable, and defensible security solutions customized for client environments

• Propel generation services and technology business towards meeting quarterly and annual quota goals in conjunction with account teams

• Gain an understanding of clients’ security environments, operations, needs, and risk tolerance

• Recognize security concerns and align them with Optiv’s strategic solutions and cybersecurity programs

• Position Optiv services and technology partners’ products to provide value to clients

• Spot opportunities for cross-selling and upselling

• Qualify leads and collaborate on scope, proposal management, and deal closing

• Engage in sales opportunities across Optiv’s entire portfolio

• Clearly communicate how Optiv’s technology and services address client stakeholder needs

• Stay updated on industry trends and the security landscape to offer thought leadership and guidance

• Work with service delivery on domain materials and consistent client engagement approaches

• Create security strategies and roadmaps that align with business objectives, budgets, and ROI metrics

• Maintain advisory relationships with client stakeholders and technology partners

• Design comprehensive security programs, gather requirements, select technologies, and manage demonstrations and evaluations

• Collaborate with internal Optiv teams to align expectations and ensure excellence in service delivery

• Provide client feedback to foster continuous improvement

• Take part in account planning, forecasting, pipeline management, and proposal activities

• Develop business proposals and contracts, as well as respond to RFIs/RFPs

• Enhance and maintain technical capabilities, soft skills, and cybersecurity knowledge

• Present and promote technology vision at industry events

• Perform additional tasks as directed or necessary

• Travel approximately 25% of the time or as required

⛳️ Requirements

• BS/BA or equivalent education and/or relevant work experience

• At least five years of experience in an information security role with a focus on Threat Management

• Preferably experience as a consulting advisor, architect, or engineer

• Proficiency in Application Security Tools

• Proficiency in Vulnerability Management

• Proficiency in Threat Management / Hunting

• Proficiency in Enterprise Incident Management

• Proficiency in Forensics / eDiscovery

• Proficiency in Threat Intelligence Platforms

• Proficiency in Asset Management

• Preferred certifications include CISSP, CISA, CRISC, CISM, GIAC, or other relevant professional cybersecurity credentials

• Experience in presenting and promoting technology vision at events

• Comprehensive understanding of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive measures

• Strong business and technical insight with the ability to lead discussions focused on technology

• Exceptional presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including whiteboarding sessions

• Keen attention to detail in reviewing SOWs, quotes, and client deliverables

• Extensive security-related knowledge and a willingness to broaden expertise across portfolio domains

• Vendor-specific certification primarily focused on the specialty area

• Willingness to travel around 25% of the time or as necessary
