Cyber Security Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee security systems and review security logs to detect potential incidents or anomalies.

• Support incident response activities, which include containment, analysis, and recovery efforts.

• Evaluate vulnerability assessments and scans for systems, networks, and applications.

• Help identify and prioritize vulnerabilities while coordinating with IT teams for remediation actions.

• Aid in the implementation and maintenance of firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, antivirus solutions, and access controls.

• Monitor and configure security systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry best practices.

• Assist in the development and enforcement of cyber security policies, standards, and guidelines.

• Contribute to compliance initiatives with applicable regulations and industry frameworks.

• Work collaboratively with various departments to deliver cyber security awareness programs.

• Offer guidance and support to employees regarding information security best practices.

• Document security incidents, detailing impact, response actions, and lessons learned.

• Prepare reports and metrics concerning cyber security incidents, vulnerabilities, and trends.

• Keep abreast of current cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry developments.

• Investigate emerging cyber security technologies, tools, and techniques.

• Evaluate and recommend products, tools, and methods to enhance enterprise security.

• Create and review system diagrams to provide recommendations or assess security risks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in cyber security, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cyber engineering position.

• Relevant certifications such as Security+, Network+, SSCP, or CISSP are preferred.

• Intermediate knowledge of information security principles, concepts, and technologies.

• Familiarity with common security tools, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.

• Understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and network architecture.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
