
Customer Success Director, Captives

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for Accelerant’s active Captive relationships, ensuring their operational success.
• Facilitate the completion of reinsurance agreements and program schedules by collaborating with the Legal team, managing comments, and addressing delays.
• Set up trust accounts and letters of credit in partnership with Treasury and relevant counterparties.
• Oversee cash receipts, recover overdue ceded premiums, and drive the collection of losses along with quarterly cession settlements.
• Manage the comprehensive onboarding process for new Captives, encompassing due diligence, internal approvals, back-end system configuration, and resolution of bordereaux inquiries.
• Collaborate with the outsourced captive manager to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and supervise the establishment of new captive cells.
• Track portfolio performance and unit economics, generate performance reports, and identify deals that are off-course.
• Streamline and automate manual workflows to facilitate scalable growth of the portfolio.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance within account management, client service, or program operations, particularly involving captives, fronting arrangements, or delegated authority relationships.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management, or a related discipline.
• Understanding of reinsurance structures and their accounting implications.
• Strong communication and client engagement abilities.
• Proficient in collateral mechanics, including Regulation 114 trusts, letters of credit, and Schedule F implications.
• Experience navigating captive domicile requirements and cell formations, particularly in collaboration with an outsourced captive manager.
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional projects across Legal, Treasury, Operations, and Finance.
• A history of recognizing and executing process or performance enhancements in a rapidly growing, technology-driven environment.
• Possession of a CPCU, ARe, ACI, or a similar professional qualification is advantageous.
• Preferred experience in a broker, captive, or MGA account management role, or a similar client-facing service position in specialty insurance.
