Customer Quality Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with Datacom's key account, Molex, and contract manufacturers regarding quality notifications, supplier quality assurance, and quality enhancement initiatives.

• Analyze quality data prior to its submission to clients and facilitate corrective actions as needed.

• Assess 8D reports provided to designated customers in relation to quality notifications.

• Obtain customer approval for quality notifications that Molex intends to close, as well as on change notices.

• Act as the primary point of contact for quality concerns raised by customers or contract manufacturers.

• Delegate customer issues to the relevant Molex personnel and ensure global expediting for assigned quality notifications.

• Communicate with Molex operating entities and customer sites regarding quality concerns and specifications.

• Coordinate the completion and communication of action items aimed at achieving quality objectives.

• Organize and lead quality communication meetings and calls with customers, contract manufacturers, and Molex.

• Conduct quarterly visits to customer and Molex locations for proactive evaluations and participate in regional or global customer meetings.

• Collaborate on new products and change management initiatives for assigned customers on a global scale.

• Manage quality lab certifications, supplier quality engineer duties, and quality engineering coordination across Molex entities.

• Facilitate the sharing of lessons learned among entities.

• Engage in internal audit teams and product/system audits for Molex sites serving assigned customers.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality role.

• Proven experience in a quality position within a multisite manufacturing setting.

• Previous involvement in successfully managing a quality improvement process with cross-disciplinary collaboration (engineering, manufacturing, sales, etc.).

• Willingness to travel to various customer or contract manufacturer locations within the Mexico region.

• Familiarity with SAP.

• Knowledge of advanced quality tools related to Lean Six Sigma, including Design of Experiments (DOE).
