Customer Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.

📋 Description

• Set up and manage customer networks utilizing Nokia software and equipment

• Detect, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues associated with customer network deployments

• Evaluate solution definitions, develop requirements, and design network architecture

• Contribute to system development designs, including interface specifications, data migration methodologies, failure mode analysis, capacity guidelines, and performance evaluations

• Create configuration templates for software and hardware, manage network capacity, control network traffic, and assess resource performance

• Support customers with the integration of network system elements

• Tailor documentation and execute software updates

• Establish and verify connectivity to network and element management systems

• Conduct tests on alarms, timing and synchronization, redundancy, call flows, services, and meet customer or country-specific requirements

• Ensure that voice, data, and video traffic successfully pass testing for customer approval and sign-off

• Provide quantifiable feedback for new products, processes, standards, or operational strategies

• Analyze, develop, and implement concepts and solutions as a subject matter expert

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electronics Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field, along with 6 years of relevant work experience, which includes 5 years of progressive experience post-baccalaureate; alternatively, a Master’s degree in one of these disciplines plus 4 years of related work experience

• 3 years of experience with GPON and XGS-PON technologies

• 3 years of experience with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking protocols

• 3 years of experience in facilitating IPTV video service delivery

• 3 years of experience in network engineering and design

• 3 years of experience in network integration

• 3 years of experience in system integration testing

• 3 years of experience with network element management systems

• 3 years of experience in Software Defined Access Networks (SDAN), including configuration and migration

• Telecommuting allowed up to 100% from any location in the U.S.

• Domestic travel may be required up to 50%

• International travel may be necessary up to 5%
