Custom Software Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain custom web scrapers and data collection tools to assist with client research and competitive intelligence efforts.

• Create data visualizations and reporting dashboards that highlight insights for both internal teams and client accounts.

• Establish automation workflows to eliminate repetitive manual tasks throughout the agency.

• Collaborate across the entire stack as required, from backend data processing to frontend interfaces.

• Follow guidance from the lead developer regarding scoping, prioritization, and technical strategy.

• Produce clean, well-documented code that can be easily understood, maintained, and expanded by other developers.

• Troubleshoot and update existing tools as they adapt to evolving client and team requirements.

• Keep abreast of relevant tools, libraries, and methodologies that could enhance our development processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 5 years of experience in software development with a proven track record of delivering functional tools.

• Proficient in both frontend and backend development.

• Strong Python skills for scripting, data processing, and automation tasks.

• Solid JavaScript and Node.js expertise for developing frontend interfaces and API integrations.

• Experience in building web scrapers or data collection tools.

• Comfortable working with APIs, webhooks, and third-party data integrations.

• Excellent attention to detail and good documentation practices.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting once project scope is defined.

• Effective communicator who can identify obstacles and ask pertinent questions proactively.

• Familiarity with data visualization libraries such as D3.js, Chart.js, or Plotly is a plus.

• Experience with automation platforms like Make, Zapier, or n8n is advantageous.

• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or similar for deploying lightweight services is a plus.

• Familiarity with SQL or working with structured datasets is a plus.

• Exposure to digital marketing tools or platforms (Google Ads, GA4, SEO tools, etc.) is an added benefit.
