CTE Engineering Teacher, 9-12

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kentucky, +5 more states.

📋 Description

• Deliver designated CTE Engineering course material to students in grades 9-12 within an online setting.

• Provide instruction, support, and guidance while overseeing the learning process with an emphasis on the unique needs of each student.

• Track student progress through the learning management system.

• Collaborate with students and parents/Learning Coaches to enhance learning and create and monitor post-secondary success plans.

• Take responsibility for students’ academic performance and attendance.

• Prepare students for significant standardized assessments.

• Conduct live synchronous teaching sessions for a minimum of 15 hours each week.

• Offer asynchronous assistance by writing emails, setting course goals, preparing learning plans, and utilizing data to assess student needs.

• Work together on instruction, resources, interventions, student data, and professional development.

• Enhance course content using established policies, procedures, and online tools.

• Submit grades and necessary student work; maintain the grade book.

• Make decisions regarding student placement and promotion, and communicate student progress or concerns to administrators.

• Build positive relationships and maintain regular communication with families, students, and learning coaches/parents.

• Assist students and learning coaches with basic computer inquiries when needed.

• Collaborate with teachers to ensure student advancement and coordinated responsibilities among stakeholders.

• Organize social and educational events, virtual clubs, outings, and extracurricular activities as necessary.

• Travel to testing locations to supervise state exams.

• Adhere to school policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

⛳️ Requirements

• Preference for Ohio residents; applicants from Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Indiana may be considered if within 100 miles of the Ohio border.

• Ability to meet travel obligations.

• Willingness and capability to obtain Ohio Certification.

• Active CTE state teaching certification OR active high school grade level state teaching certification with CTE Validation.

• Bachelor’s degree.

• Six (6) months of experience in student teaching.

• Meet the Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) criteria in the subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB).

• Ability to pass the required background check.

• Capacity to work independently, typically exceeding 40 hours per week.

• A professional home office free from distractions during work hours.

• Ability to travel as needed, averaging once per month and/or approximately 30% of the time.

• Access to reliable high-speed internet.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.

• Capability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in technology systems, programs, and curriculum.

• Experience working with the specified age group.

• Experience assisting adults and children in using technology.

• Experience in a virtual work environment.

• Experience teaching in an online/virtual and/or traditional classroom setting.

• Familiarity with Canvas or other online platforms.
