Crop Insurance Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Assist with operations related to Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims.

• Establish and nurture professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.

• Document and relay loss information to assess potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and Company guidelines.

• Carry out field inspections, interpret maps and aerial imagery, measure fields, and assess storage bins.

• Employ company software and oversee daily company communications.

• Adhere to the regulations, policies, and procedures set forth by FCIS, State, and Company.

• Complete initial and continuous training and certifications mandated by FCIC and State Regulations.

• Clarify adjusting procedures and findings to both policyholders and agents.

• Engage in fact-finding and investigate crop damage to assess potential indemnities.

• Acquire knowledge of new crops as necessary.

• Operate in both indoor and outdoor agricultural settings.

• Travel up to 50%, mainly within a two-hour driving radius from the designated home office, with occasional out-of-town trips for training and meetings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing crop insurance claims is preferred.

• CAPP certification is mandatory.

• Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.

• Applicable State license is required.

• High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and experience that is equivalent.

• Fundamental mathematical skills are necessary.

• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to fulfill documentation requirements effectively.

• Proficient analytical thinking, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.

• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.

• Capacity to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.

• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion.

• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for distances up to 3 miles.

• Capability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and work at significant heights.

• Ability to work in confined spaces and under extreme weather conditions.

• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and/or as needed.

• Proficient in using necessary personal protective equipment.
