This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.
• Assist with Multi-Peril Crop Insurance, Private Products, and Named Peril claims operations.
• Establish and nurture professional relationships with the Area Claim Supervisor, policyholders, agents, and fellow adjusters.
• Document and relay loss information to assess potential damages in accordance with FCIC, NCIS, and company guidelines.
• Conduct field inspections.
• Interpret maps and aerial images.
• Measure fields and storage facilities.
• Utilize company software and monitor communications on a daily basis.
• Adhere to FCIS, state, and company regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Complete initial and ongoing training and certifications mandated by FCIC and state laws.
• Clarify adjusting procedures and results to policyholders and agents.
• Perform fact-finding and investigate instances of crop damage.
• Document and convey information to assess potential indemnities.
• Acquire knowledge of new crops as necessary.
• Work both indoors and outdoors in agricultural settings.
• Travel up to 50%, mainly within a two-hour radius of the designated home office, with occasional out-of-town travel for training and meetings.
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in managing crop insurance claims is preferred.
• CAPP certification is required.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Must have an applicable state license.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
• Basic math skills are necessary.
• Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Capable of completing documentation requirements.
• Possess analytical thinking, fact-finding, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain self-motivated and productive.
• Comfortable working in both office and outdoor farm environments.
• Ability to function independently as well as part of a team.
• Customer service-oriented.
• Familiarity with crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Initiative and comfort working with minimal supervision.
• Excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
• Capability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
• Ability to walk in agricultural fields for up to 3 miles.
• Capability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 75 feet and ladders.
• Comfort working in confined spaces, at significant heights, and in extreme weather conditions.
• Tolerance for high-dust environments.
• Ability to utilize necessary personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and as required.
• Up to 50% travel, primarily within a two-hour driving distance from the designated home office.
