Credit Risk Review Officer – Consumer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +6 more states.

📋 Description

• Support the Consumer Group Manager by conducting thorough and ongoing oversight of Consumer and Residential Real Estate loan portfolios.

• Analyze reports, participate in meetings, and liaise with key stakeholders.

• Engage in Credit Process, Target, and Ongoing Monitoring Reviews.

• Take the lead on less complex Reviews as requested.

• Identify potential risks, including exceptions, overrides, and strategic changes.

• Create ongoing monitoring plans to evaluate risks effectively.

• Assess borrower creditworthiness, underwriting quality, and the validity of risk ratings.

• Review loan and collateral documentation for accuracy.

• Aid in periodic Risk Assessments and the risk-based ranking of assigned Universe units.

• Offer constructive feedback to underwriters, credit administrators, and management.

• Oversee and report on the resolution of follow-up items from reviews.

• Participate in loan committee meetings and other pertinent gatherings.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and the advancement of the Credit Risk Review function.

• Assist with special projects as required.

• Capability to analyze findings, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.

• Skill in validating credit/financial information and evaluating automated scoring/underwriting system outputs.

• Proficiency in assessing loan and collateral documentation for adequacy, compliance with loan policy, and enforceability.

• Ability to communicate effectively with underwriters, credit administrators, and management.

• Competence in managing review follow-up items and reporting their resolutions.

• Development of subject matter expertise in Consumer/Residential Real Estate portfolios.
