Credit & Collections Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to minimize accounts receivable balances that are over 60 days old.

• Reach out to customers using phone calls, emails, and/or letters.

• Manage sensitive information with confidentiality.

• Prepare updates on account resolution for various leadership levels.

• Document all activities and efforts to reduce outstanding balances.

• Create placement packages for external attorneys in cases of potential litigation.

• Communicate via telephone with operations management, physicians, attorneys, and internal stakeholders.

• Utilize tools to enhance billing information accuracy.

• Investigate and assess complex projects or assignments to identify and evaluate financial impacts.

• Analyze processes to identify opportunities for improvement and educational initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification.

• At least 1 year of experience in a call center, customer service, collections, or healthcare billing-related position.

• Previous experience in meeting deadlines and achieving weekly targets.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.

• Ability to compile and systematically organize data.

• Strong critical thinking skills and a foundational understanding of medical and computer concepts.

• Capability to work independently while managing time efficiently.

• A dedicated, distraction-free workspace.

• Minimum internet download speed of 50 Mbps; satellite internet is not acceptable.

• Equipment must be connected via Ethernet; Wi-Fi, mobile routers, or hotspots are not permitted.
