This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Execute the spreading of financial statements, conduct underwriting, and perform credit analysis to support commercial lending and manage the commercial loan portfolio.
• Prepare credit memos for funding requests from both new and existing borrowers.
• Assist Portfolio Management by conducting annual reviews, renewals, change memos, and modifications.
• Manage credits that involve higher aggregate exposure and/or more complex cases.
• Develop high-quality credit analyses and recommendations that assess credit strengths and weaknesses.
• Engage in the Opportunity Memo process and participate in OM calls.
• Examine financial statements, industry risks, loan structures, and market conditions to evaluate creditworthiness and repayment capabilities.
• Utilize financial spreading software and other analytical tools to assess cash flow and sources of repayment.
• Perform underwriting tasks, identify credit risks, analyze repayment capacity, and craft collateral coverage narratives.
• Suggest credit structuring, documentation, and risk controls in accordance with credit approval guidelines.
• Ascertain the appropriate levels for underwriting and due diligence.
• Complete underwriting tasks within established service levels and turnaround times.
• Participate in business discussions with commercial lending and credit administration teams.
• Stay informed about macroeconomic factors impacting local markets and regional industries.
• Ensure the integrity of underwriting-platform data.
• Address compliance and audit-related issues within the scope of responsibilities.
• Identify policy exceptions that align with the Bank’s Commercial Credit Policy.
• Monitor and propose workflow and procedural changes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Detect potential credit losses and implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Employ risk rating models to establish credit risk ratings.
• Prioritize tasks with direction from Commercial Credit Managers.
• Assess guarantors’ financial status using personal financial statements and tax returns.
• Conduct loan covenant testing calculations and update compliance records accordingly.
• Complete required training and enhance business writing and professional communication skills.
• A Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, management, finance, or a related field is preferred.
• 6-8 years of relevant experience in commercial lending or credit administration, particularly in Equipment Finance, is preferred.
• Proven ability to accurately and efficiently analyze complex credits.
• Familiarity with lending practices across a diverse range of industries.
• Capability to analyze detailed financial information.
• Proficient computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
• Ability to operate with minimal direct supervision while exercising independent judgment and decision-making.
• Preferred expertise in high-net-worth and corporate aircraft transactions.
• Knowledge of secured loan documentation.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and professional communication abilities.
• Understanding of banking regulations and guidelines related to Credit Administration, Commercial Lending, and Appraisals.
