Crawl Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more locations.

📋 Description

• Manage crawler operations, which involves configuring crawls, creating custom crawler code, diagnosing issues, and implementing solutions.

• Adhere to our processes that include monitoring service level agreements (SLAs) and updating our issue tracking system.

• Convert feedback from customers and operational teams into actionable software development to improve our products and services.

• Maintain and enhance current software, including both internal tools and our open-source projects.

• Communicate effectively and in a timely manner.

• Take a proactive approach, actively identifying issues in software and systems and devising solutions.

• Be accountable for completing critical daily tasks on time.

• Assist Junior Crawl Engineers with their daily responsibilities.

• Address challenges both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in a production environment related to software development or operations.

• 2-4 years of coding experience in Python and JavaScript.

• Capable of writing high-quality code.

• Willingness to troubleshoot and resolve urgent issues.

• Ability to understand and work with existing code written by others.

• Proficient in solving technical and operational challenges.

• Familiarity with Unix/Linux, including scripting using tools like grep, find, and awk.

• Deep understanding of HTTP and web technologies.

• Strong written communication skills.

• Responsible, self-motivated, and driven.

• Enthusiastic about learning, teaching, and problem-solving.
