CPQ Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete CPQ solution architecture, encompassing technical design, integration patterns, architecture standards, and design governance.

• Convert intricate business and commercial requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

• Lead key architectural decisions while ensuring conformity with enterprise technology standards.

• Design and architect sophisticated product models, configuration rules, guided selling strategies, pricing strategies, discounting, rebates, and approval workflows.

• Develop solutions for quote generation, quote versioning, and comprehensive quote-to-order processes.

• Architect CPQ solutions that support capital placements, consignment, rental, pay-per-procedure, volume commitments, framework agreements, and bundled offerings.

• Transform complex commercial agreements into configurable business rules and pricing frameworks.

• Oversee integration design across CRM, pricing engines, SAP ERP, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), tender management, and product master data systems.

• Define API-based integration patterns, middleware strategies, data flows, and error-handling protocols.

• Maintain data consistency, interoperability, security, and performance across the enterprise landscape.

• Provide direct technical guidance to development and integration teams.

• Conduct architecture reviews, design walkthroughs, and code assessments.

• Resolve complex technical challenges and drive effective solutions.

• Champion architecture throughout the implementation process from design and development to integration testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), deployment, and hypercare.

• Collaborate with business, functional, and IT stakeholders to manage technical dependencies, risks, and delivery priorities.

• Ensure the solution aligns with both functional and non-functional requirements, including performance, security, and scalability.

⛳️ Requirements

• 12–15+ years of experience in enterprise technology, with significant hands-on expertise in solution architecture.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in CPQ architecture and implementation, ideally within large-scale, complex, multi-country transformation initiatives.

• Strong proficiency in CPQ product modeling, configuration rules, pricing engines, discount structures, approval frameworks, and quote-to-order processes.

• Proven track record in designing and delivering integrations between CPQ platforms and CRM, ERP, pricing, and contract management systems.

• In-depth understanding of APIs, middleware, data modeling, enterprise architecture, security, performance optimization, and scalability.

• Demonstrated capability to lead technical teams, make independent architectural decisions, and supervise solution delivery throughout the implementation lifecycle.

• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication abilities.

• Hands-on architecture and implementation experience with PROS Smart CPQ is highly desirable.

• Experience integrating CPQ with pricing optimization capabilities using PROS Price Optimization & Management (PO&M) is a significant advantage.

• Familiarity with Salesforce Revenue Cloud, Oracle CPQ, or comparable enterprise CPQ solutions is important.

• Experience in the medical devices, healthcare manufacturing, or capital-equipment-intensive industries is preferred.

• Demonstrated involvement in legacy CPQ migration, platform modernization, or enterprise-wide CPQ transformation efforts.
