Country Representative – IGNITE

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Peru.

📋 Description

• Lead the execution of the IGNITE project strategy in Peru, ensuring alignment with program objectives, local priorities, and donor expectations.

• Act as the primary in-country representative and main point of contact for IGNITE.

• Facilitate stakeholder consultations to uncover priorities, opportunities, and technical assistance requirements.

• Establish and nurture relationships with public institutions, regulatory authorities, private sector entities, business associations, development partners, donors, Canadian missions, and other relevant stakeholders.

• Oversee assignment design and act as the main point of contact for local partners throughout the assignment process.

• Assist in the recruitment and deployment of Catalyste+ Advisors and consultants.

• Aid in the implementation and coordination of activities in designated secondary countries as needed.

• Guide Advisors and consultants in creating work plans and executing assignments.

• Manage assignment logistics and support Advisors during their assignments in-country.

• Implement Results-Based Management principles to ensure continuity across assignments.

• Monitor economic, institutional, policy, and development trends, communicating any associated risks and opportunities.

• Contribute to work plans, progress reports, donor reporting, and program documentation.

• Develop partnership opportunities and represent Catalyste+ at meetings, conferences, workshops, and stakeholder events.

• Oversee operations, record-keeping, management information systems, budgets, compliance, and administrative tasks.

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to local staff as necessary.

• Coordinate with Canadian Embassies and local representatives of Canadian organizations.

• Support Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning systems, including data collection, knowledge sharing, and ongoing enhancement.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Peru.

• Hold a university degree in International Development, Public Administration, Economics, Business Administration, Political Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience.

• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience is required.

• Demonstrated experience in engaging with public sector institutions, including ministries, regulatory agencies, local governments, or other public entities.

• Experience in international development, economic growth, governance, public administration, trade promotion, private sector advancement, or related areas.

• Familiarity with donor-funded development programs.

• Proven ability to manage stakeholder and partner relationships effectively.

• Experience in project management and applying Results-Based Management principles.

• Strong understanding of gender equality, women's economic empowerment, and the inclusion of marginalized and underrepresented groups.

• Excellent relationship-building, networking, and partnership development capabilities.

• Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.

• Capacity to work independently, handle competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment.

• Exceptional organizational and coordination abilities.

• Knowledge of the country's economic, institutional, and developmental landscape.

• Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders from both public and private sectors.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Fluent in Spanish and possess professional working proficiency in English.
