Country Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Jordan.

📋 Description

• Lead teams across Jordan, Lebanon, and the Palestinian Territories, consisting of eight freelance country representatives.

• Develop and execute the Country Impact Plan in alignment with PUM’s mission, strategy, and organizational goals.

• Enhance business ecosystems through strategic analysis and alignment with PUM initiatives.

• Forge partnerships with entrepreneurs, business organizations, and other supportive entities.

• Identify, cultivate, and secure funding opportunities from institutional donors, foundations, corporate partners, and sponsors.

• Manage strategic partnerships with SMEs and stakeholders via proactive account management and consistent engagement.

• Build, lead, and mentor the country representative team.

• Ensure team capacity, motivation, accountability, and performance, including organizing country team meetings.

• Qualify new clients using diversity, inclusion, and green and social goal assessment criteria.

• Approve project proposals and guarantee accurate information for expert matching.

• Collaborate with program managers to facilitate successful project outcomes.

• Occasionally welcome and accompany visiting experts.

• Engage with clients post-acquisition to ensure continuity, quality, and strategic alignment.

• Lead briefing and debriefing sessions for quality assurance, data collection, and learning.

• Monitor performance and utilize data to share insights and enhance results.

• Ensure adherence to organizational policies, quality standards, and project timelines.

• Report to the head of region and collaborate with country managers, program managers, recruitment, and communications and partnerships departments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree.

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a coordinating role and leading a commercial or acquisition-focused team.

• Strong local SME network and a profound understanding of business ecosystem development in Jordan.

• Familiarity with European work culture and remote collaboration within international organizations.

• Excellent intercultural communication skills.

• Demonstrated leadership, accountability, performance management, and stakeholder engagement experience.

• Experience in managing a remote team operating throughout the country.

• Willingness to travel occasionally within Southwest Asia.

• Strong emphasis on impact, quality, and measurable outcomes.

• Data-driven and proficient in using digital tools, including Microsoft 365.

• Excellent command of English.

• Fluent in Arabic.

• Must be permanently based in Jordan.

• Available for 37.5 hours per week.

• Reference checks and declaration of good conduct are required as part of the selection process.
