This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado, +11 more states.
• Develop and assist in the execution of short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to enhance 350.org’s work in the US.
• Conduct research and identify national campaign opportunities that align with global campaign goals.
• Collaborate with institutional and individual giving teams to articulate program strategies, priorities, and funding requirements.
• Contribute to global fundraising strategies by pinpointing investment priorities, identifying funding gaps, and exploring donor-aligned opportunities.
• Evaluate funding prospects for strategic fit, delivery capacity, risks, and resource requirements.
• Add program insights to fundraising proposals, concept notes, donor presentations, reports, and external documents.
• Convert program strategies, activities, outcomes, budgets, and evidence into persuasive narratives for donors.
• Expand the US supporter network and meet individual giving targets in collaboration with global digital engagement and fundraising teams.
• Track progress using key performance indicators.
• Organize donor-funded commitments, maintain program records, documentation of results, and financial data for reporting purposes.
• Offer strategic direction for media and social media engagement, messaging, crisis management, and rapid response efforts.
• Act as a spokesperson for interviews, press releases, videos, and events.
• Provide guidance to team members involved in 350 US communications and digital initiatives.
• Represent the US program during discussions with donors and partners.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with institutional and individual donors.
• Build connections with philanthropic, movement, and civil society stakeholders.
• Develop and oversee US and project budgets, delegating spending authority as appropriate.
• Influence global strategy and campaigns by analyzing national contexts.
• Act as a representative of the US in internal frameworks and collaborate with country counterparts and global teams.
• Contribute to cross-country and international initiatives and campaigns.
• Ensure effective collaboration between country, global, and other organizational teams.
• Manage and oversee assigned staff and consultants.
• Facilitate US planning, systems, daily coordination, and collaborative efforts.
• Establish, monitor, and evaluate team and campaign objectives.
• Foster team cohesion and a positive culture based on JEDI principles.
• Represent 350.org as its senior local spokesperson in media, social channels, donor engagements, and external events.
• Stay informed about 350.org’s campaigns, climate science and policy, and pertinent US and regional trends.
• A minimum of six (6) years of experience in political organizing and campaigning.
• At least three (3) years of experience in managing people and teamwork within diverse and multi-racial organizations, including oversight of communications and digital campaigns staff.
• Proven track record as an effective spokesperson at public events and in media interviews.
• Demonstrated success in designing and implementing (digital) communication strategies.
• Strong knowledge of climate justice, strategy, and social movements within the US.
• Proven commitment to and application of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI), as well as anti-racism or anti-oppression work.
• Exceptional ability to collaborate and work effectively with individuals from diverse racial, ethnic, class, age, gender, and sexual orientation backgrounds.
• Strong strategic thinking skills and the ability to translate broader strategies into departmental objectives.
• Experience in institutional fundraising, donor engagement, proposal development, grant reporting, and stewardship of restricted funding.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to simplify complex data into clear messages for diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced remote setting.
• Familiarity with G-Suite.
• Legal authorization to work for any employer in the applicant’s country of residence.
• Preferred but not essential: experience in digital content creation, digital fundraising, working with remote international organizations, and unionized staff in the US.
